The Dean of the University of Lisbon Prof. Luis Manuel dos Anjos Ferreira and the President of the Insituto Superior Técnico Prof. Rogério Colaço invite us to attend Prof. Amílcar's aula de Jubilação. 2024 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine

The 2024 Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine will be held in Lisbon this December. The Politécnico de Portalegre, in collaboration with CERENA and IST is organizing this year's conference, whose motto titles «Bridging The Research and Sectoral Shores To Tackle Digital Transition Opportunities». The event will bring together research communities on biomedical, health informatics, and life sciences.

ValorWaste - Valorisation and Integration of Extractive Waste Towards the Sustainability of Raw Materials Industry

The extractive industry has been considered one of Europe’s most significant waste streams. Given the ambition to move towards a circular economy, extractive wastes have the potential to be altered from a substantial environmental burden to valuable resources via the recovery of valuable minerals and critical raw materials (CRM), reprocessing, and reusing in various applications. Motivated by this, ValorWaste project was conceptualized to provide a holistic view under the reprocessing of extractive waste by addressing the following challenges:
