We help you to prepare high-quality project proposals for highly competitive national and international calls. CERENA has a pre-call open to prepare submissions for Scientific Employment Stimulus and to Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships, two competitive programs for granting a researcher contract.

Who?

We are looking for any national and foreign candidate(s) holding a Ph.D. degree in a research area related to CERENA’s main research lines: energy, environment and raw materials. We seek highly motivated researchers with ability for independent and creative research and a strong publication track-recording. Good English skills are essential. We advise to carefully revise the eligibility criteria for both programs. CERENA may give some guidance and help to obtain the required administrative documents to apply for the calls.

Application documents.

Candidates must submit a single PDF document * with a motivation letter, a brief description of a potential research plan and the Curriculum Vitae, both written in English. All information should not exceed 4 pages.

CERENA has an open position for science management in Environmental Engineering (sub-area Research Development and Grants Management), under the FCT Tenure Program Contract 1st edition (2023.15700.TENURE.038).

Functions include:

• Search and follow-up of application opportunities to international competitively based research projects;
• Support the development and supervision of proposals for competitive international calls;
• Support the negotiation of international projects retained for financing;
• Ensure a consistent and efficient approach to project proposal development for competitive international calls;
• Keep up-to-date records of applications, their results and related official documents.

The successful candidate should hold a PhD in Environmental Engineering or a related area, with a focus on development and grant management, and a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals an adequate profile to the activity to be developed.

The application should include:

• Copy of the PhD Certificate or diploma, including the date of completion
• PhD Thesis or equivalent document that determined the award of the academic PhD degree
• Detailed CV structure as required in the call
• Scientific project focusing on the development of a plan for the development, prospecting and management of competitive financing (pre-award), particularly in highly competitive international competitions, considering the strategic plan of CERENA
• Other documents that the candidate considers relevant.

CERENA develops research at the highest level of excellence related to the sustainable use of natural resources, including energy, as well as their impact on the environment.
