CERENA Seminar - Abandoned mines in Portugal: toxic elements and environmental damage

In this seminar of the series ‘Next Generation Science: Building a Path to Sustainability'  Bárbara Fonseca will present her research: Abandoned mines in Portugal: toxic elements and environmental damage.

Six abandoned mining sites in Central-Northern Portugal were studied by testing soil samples for toxic elements. The results were analyzed using mapping techniques to understand possible environmental risks.
