Dr. Naveed Akram is working as Researcher at IST’s CERENA of University of Lisbon, Portugal. He was previously appointed as Senior Research Associate on a dual position at TUDelft, The Netherlands and The Cyprus Institute (2021-2024) and Post-doctoral Research Fellow at University of Science and Technology of China (2017-2020). He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Geophysics from University of Science and Technology of China (2017) and Master’s Degree in Seismology from The University of Punjab, Pakistan.
His current research focused on AI-driven geophysical and geological modelling for subsurface monitoring and characterization for various applications including exploration of natural resources, reservoir modelling for renewable energy sources. The research will contribute to EU-funded project “MINOTAUR” that aims to advance exploration drilling problem with modern technologies such as robotics, digital twin technology, and artificial intelligence.
