Miguel Gomes is a Geologist with a master's degree in Geosciences from the Universidade do Minho, specializing in External Dynamics and Global Changes. He completed his master’s dissertation titled “Monitoring and modeling coastal morphodynamics using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV): Case studies on the beaches of Belinho, Fieiro Alto, and Cepães.”

Since October 2022, he has been a PhD student at CERENA – Instituto Superior Técnico under the FCT-funded scholarship (UI/BD/153765/2022). His research focuses on the “Characterization of Drought Risk in the South of Portugal using Spatial Data Science methodologies.”
