Renata Santos is Invited Assistant Professor in the Department of Mining Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) since 2015. She has a Graduation degree in Geology (1997) by FCUP and a PhD in Mining Engineering (2008) by IST with the dissertation entitled “Hydrogeological and Hydrochemical Characterization of Germunde Mine Site (Pejão)”.  From 2008 to 2014, worked with several Post-Doc grants, at Laboratory of Geology and Mines (LGM) of LNEG (Portuguese Geological Survey). During this time, she pursued his research on water resources as well in hydrogeological mapping for the publication of several sheets of the Geological map of Portugal, 1:50 000 scale and hydrogeological maps (scale 1:200000 and several projects always correlated with hydrogeological resources.
Her scientific research main topics are inorganic hydrochemistry, rehabilitation of contaminated waters; monitoring and environmental risk analysis. Author of more than 30 publications among proceedings of international conferences, technical reports and educational publishing.
