DAEDALUS - Exploring the Origins of Warm-Bloodedness: biomechanical insights into Dinosaur-Bird endothermy through semicircular canals

About

On going

The DAEDALUS project investigates the evolution of endothermy in birds and dinosaurs through the analysis of the inner ear, predicting body temperature with a novel thermo-mobility index. It addresses gaps in knowledge about the viscosity of the optic fluid and the structure of the inner ear using nanoviscoimetry, tomography, and AI for head movement analysis. DAEDALUS aims to deepen our understanding of a crucial milestone in physiological evolution.
