The 19th edition of the ULS Almada–Seixal Medical Conference brought together experts in otolaryngology, medical technology, and surgical innovation.
CERENA researchers showcased the applications of high-resolution X-ray imaging in environmental, clinical, forensic, geological, and mining fields. The MIL facility, in Instituto Superior Técnico, has proven to be a powerful tool for generating 3D images and precise modeling of various materials, particularly in medicine and biomedical engineering, integrating these fields with clinical practice and medical education.
The two-day event featured live surgeries, technology showcases, keynote talks, and workshops. The session 'New Technologies and Medical Training' (Novas Tecnologias e Formação Médica) highlighted how 3D printed temporal bone structures are becoming a viable alternative for training in otologic surgery.
